Eighteen Days

Every other moment is an image in my mind;
Never will I ever let go of any pictures that you’ve painted for me.
Well you know they’re all we’ve left of this beautiful place
Where no one ever found us dancing in the rain.
And this was the start of the endless road
To show us still life can be real.
Eighteen days into our lives, the raindrops fell out of the sky
As we were sheltered by the umbrella over our heads.
We glanced into each other’s eyes, and no words were said to get it right
‘Cause in the end we both knew what to do.
You see, I know that you know what I’m thinking of
Even if we’re scared to admit and rattled up from our last.
This empty room will become no more as we grow ever so closer,
And we’ll gain the resistance of the lifetime scars.
And this was the start of the endless road
To show us still life can be real.
With each step we take we stray farther from the things
That have held us back for so long.
Eighteen days into our lives, the raindrops fell out of the sky
As we were sheltered by the umbrella over our heads.
We glanced into each other’s eyes, and no words were said to get it right
‘Cause in the end we both knew what to do.
We’re turning around to catch our breath.
This one moment will decide what come next.
We’re turning around to catch our breath. (We'll never look back)
This one moment will decide what come next. (We'll never look back)
Eighteen days into our lives, the raindrops fell out of the sky
As we were sheltered by the umbrella over our heads.
We glanced into each other’s eyes, and no words were said to get it right
‘Cause in the end we both knew what to do.

Any day now, I will fly away with these wings all over my dreams
Heading towards the safest place inside my head;
But I don’t want to hide from your voice that’s inside my mind,
So please can we just forget?
Even in the darkness I’ll help you find your way;
No matter what goes on, it’s always the same safe place.
If you have nothing to lose, then why are you crying?
Your watermark is enough to hold the life of all the tears,
So just keep on breathing, babe, and you won’t run out of breath today
To say the things you want to say.
I know that it’s not your fault; it’s not over.
The life that you’ve lead now has taken you down many paths;
And don’t be afraid of the monsters you still keep;
We’ve all got them inside of us tearing open our seams.
Even in the darkness I’ll help you find your way;
Your monsters stand no chance against the demons I’ve unleashed.
If you have nothing to lose, then why are you crying?
Your watermark is enough to hold the life of all the tears,
So just keep on breathing, babe, and you won’t run out of breath today
To say the things you want to say.
In the darkness, I’ll be there;
Though, this time we know I need to leave you here.
It’s only temporary ‘til you close your eyes and see
That all of this is just a dream.
The never-ending words made from your mouth
Can never really ever make us feel in doubt
‘Cause our promises are all that we are that we believe;
And even though we know the sunshine brings a new start,
We still feel like this is all going to fall apart;
Just for tonight you want to stay alone.
Just for tonight I want to stay alone.
If you have nothing to lose, then why are you crying?
If you have nothing to lose, then why are you crying?
Your watermark is enough to hold the life of all the tears,
So just keep on breathing, babe, and you won’t run out of breath today
To say the things you want to say.

I Think You Saved Me

Alone forever, losing the race you pulled me back
Together; put me back in my place.
Now when I see you smile I have purpose in
This life that I lead now is all because of you.
My time’s running out, when you’re not around;
Can you save me from myself?
This one more chance is all I’ve left.
Thank you for turning on the lights
Because my fear of the dark was getting to me,
In my mind behind closed doors.
You found me waiting for something to believe in;
Now I can dream the thousand dreams you’ve given to me.
I was so tired of fighting for a lost cause;
Was slowly spelling disaster one letter at a time;
When this world was falling apart on me,
I never saw it coming, but you kept me safe inside.
My time’s running out, when you’re not around;
Can you save me from myself?
This one more chance is all I’ve left.
Thank you for turning on the lights
Because my fear of the dark was getting to me,
In my mind behind closed doors.
You found me waiting for something to believe in;
Now I can dream the thousand dreams you’ve given to me.
